My group had a fantastic time on American Creek with Zach and his team. I’ve fly fished plenty of times in the western US, but nothing quite like fly fishing for the really big trout in Alaska. The terrain was incredible. When we first arrived via the float plane, there was tundra for as far as I could see. It was overcast but largely comfortable – not too hot or cold for late June. That terrain didn’t last long before we got into some deep forested areas.
Each night we camped right against the river. We were largely isolated from anyone else. For those of you who would rather not sit around all day in a boat holding a rod, this trip is for you. You’re constantly moving and hiking around – getting the true, rugged Alaska experience. The fish were plentiful and a blast to bring in. There was always plenty of food and snacks. I’d highly recommend Zach – I’ll probably be using his services again sometime soon!

Once in a lifetime experience! The scenery of the river with the bears and the salmon was breathtaking! I have been spoiled by the fishing experience, you can see from the photos the average size of fish we were catching. The trip was well planned and executed. I am Hooked on Alaska!

I am a very experienced fly fisherman and my brother Timothy who came with me is not at all experienced with fly fishing. Neither of us had been to Alaska before and we both had the time of our lives on our trip with you! I had grown up fishing in the Pacific ocean for salmon, halibut and lots of other types of fish, but that was not my interest any more.
My interest is being in high mountain streams fishing for trout — and what you provided was beyond anything I have experienced before. Never before have I caught trout above 19 inches, but with you we were catching tons of gorgeous trout ranging from 20 inches to 28 inches! And to top it off, you are a great cook.
