Alagnak River

A classic Alaskan River to float down. This river offers all 5 species of salmon, grayling and trophy rainbow trout. This river gets has one of the most prolific sockeye runs in the world and they begin to run every year around the 4th of July. If you are looking to fish for sockeye salmon, I recommend floating this river the 2 weeks that follow the 4th of July. This river is a 4-7 Day float because of the braids you can spend days fishing the braids looking for those trophy rainbow trout, or you can fish the sockeye holes with all the brown bears as the whole river becomes sockeye heaven. We have personally seen up to 30 bears in a day on the river with up to 100 bears in a trip. We focus on this river in July and also for opening day which is June 8th every year. We recommend this river to beginners and intermediate fisherman it is a great river for your first Alaskan experience. Give us a shout so we can book your Alagnak fishing experience.
