Alagnak River 2022 July 4-8

What a trip this was, it was the first trip fishing for Salmon during the year. We decided to go slam some sockeye down the Alagnak and were there some sockeye. We caught as many as we wanted but our 4 anglers learned that it isn’t as easy as it seems. Depending on the run the sockeye made them work for their hook ups and when hooked man did they go crazy. Up on the early sections of the float we got into some good rainbow fishing and we caught some really nice sized rainbows in the 18-22 inch range. The fishing was great but the weather did change on us it went from being 60-70 degrees with no rain to raining everyday. We ended up having some pretty nice lunch days as we set up the screen tent to get out of the weather, but the weather didn’t stop us from having a good time. We still ate fresh salmon everyday and caught lots of fish.
